Want to start online bidding on livestock? Follow these steps to get started:
TIP: Creating a bidding account can be done quickly, but sometimes it can take up to two days to verify your bidding-account. Make sure you have been verified before the auction starts.
Option 1: Create a bidding account by registering directly on our website
- Step 1: Click on the register button in the top right corner of this website. Enter your personal data on a secured page and after you have clicked on the ‘register now’ button, you will receive an email confirming your registration
- Step 2: Wait for your account to be verified. After registration, your account must be verified by the management of the auction site. Most of the time this is done within a few hours, but sometimes it can take up to two days. When your account is verified, you will receive an email that helps you create your username and password.
Now you can start bidding! Take a look at our auction calendar and at the animals that will be auctioned.
Option 2: Create a bidding account with a specific partner when you see an animal you want to purchase
Important; you can only participate in auctions that this partner organises. Do you want to participate in auctions other partners organise? You will need to register there as well or you can create a farmersbid.com account.
- Step 1: Find an auction and/or animal you want to purchase
On our auction site FarmersBid.com you see <an overview of all the online auctions> that are coming up. If you want to take a look at the animals currently for sale, just click on the auction you are interested in.
Do you want to know more about this animal or the auction house? Click on ‘more details’ and you will be forwarded to the website of the partner.
- Step 2: Register to start bidding
When you have found an animal that you want to purchase on one of the auctions, click on the ‘Register’-button. You can find the button in the top right corner. You will be redirected to the secure registration page of this FarmersBid partner. Enter your personal data on this secured page and after you have clicked on the “Register now” button, you will receive an email confirming your registration.
- Step 3: Wait for your account to be verified
After registration, your account must be verified by the management of the auction site. Most of the time this is done within hours, but sometimes it can take up to two days. When your account is verified, you will receive an email where you can create your username and password
- Step 4: Add the auction to your calendar
Make sure you add the auction, in which your animal is participating, to your calendar. This way you will not miss the auction.
Now you can start bidding!
Take the following steps to start bidding on livestock
Step 1: Login on the day of the auction
On the day of the auction, go to farmersbid.com and go to the auction that is active and the animal you want to buy. You can log in by using the ‘Sign in’ button next to the animal and you will be redirected to the partner page to start bidding. The bidding screen clearly shows what time the auction is, or ‘sign in’ on the right top corner of the screen.
Important: Did you login on a specific partner page, then you need to login on the same partner page as the one you registered earlier.
Did you register on farmersbid.com you can login on farmersbid.com and participate in any auction organised.
Enter your email address and password. This will automatically take you to the bidding system.
Step 2: Activate the bid button
Before you can bid, you must first activate the bid button. You can click on the lock on the ‘bid’ button to unlock it.
The unlocking of the ‘bid’ button is an additional protection for the buyer. This reduces the chance of accidentally making an offer.
Now you can bid on the offers at the auction.
Step 3: start bidding
After activating the bid button, take part in the auction by clicking the bid button. The bid button always shows the last bid.
When you participate in a live auction online, you will see the auctioneer live and see bids from the venue and of course the bids from other online bidders.
You can also participate in a timed auction, which means you can add you bid for a specific animal within a predefined time frame. The bidder who has the highest bid after the time frame has passed, is the winning bidder.
Step 4: Is your offer accepted or not?
When you have made an offer, the screen will show you whether your offer has been accepted and whether you are the highest bidder.
Step 5: You are the winning bidder
When you are the highest bidder, you will receive a confirmation email from the auction house that organises the auction. They will explain how you can complete your offer and how to pay.
Step 6: After the auction
You will keep in touch with the auction house to complete the transaction.
